Play Therapy

UNDERPINNINGS OF BEHAVIOURS AND EMOTIONAL DISTRUBANCES SEEN IN CHILDREN

Certain memories or unpleasant situations create an incapacitating anxiety in most of us..

These anxieties bring out   various forms of behavior…

  • Loneliness
  • Aggression
  • Falling into bad company
  • Depression are to name a few
  • Various forms of defense mechanisms spring up.
  • The unconscious is the main  motivator for most of the  behaviors
  • Children are more vulnerable than adults
  • The Child could be subconsciously struggling with His feelings of inadequacy, frustrations and shortcomings in being unable to cope with the circumstances.

Yet not realizing what exactly is bothering him.

¨  This could result in varied behaviors seen……..

¨  So how can we help a child/adolescent cope with the ongoing turmoil in his mind???

Play therapy is the answer…

Goals of Play Therapy:

¨  It helps in getting an insight into the unconscious of repressed feelings and bringing it into the consciousness and to creating a safe and comfortable environment and climate so that children gradually release their guard.

¨   Play therapy is thus a powerful tool to obtain information useful in diagnosing the child’s difficulties and anxieties. It eventually leads to an insight in the child’s/ adolescents mind about their fears and anxieties and helps in giving an insight to the counselor for their difficulties.

  14. I do not create many remarks, however I read through some responses on Play Therapy | Turning Point. I actually do have a few questions for you if it’s okay. Could it be simply me or does it look like a few of these responses look like they are written by brain dead folks? 😛 And, if you are posting on additional sites, I would like to keep up with everything new you have to post. Would you post a list of every one of your social networking pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for rookie blog writers? I’d definitely appreciate it.
